Héctor Barberá

It is a pilot of Spanish motorcycling which runs in the MotoGP category. First and only Valencian rider in history to compete in that category that concentrates the elite of world motorcycling.

He inherited his father's passion for motorcycles, and began his career in the world of motorcycling in trial mode obtaining in 1996 the Championship of the Valencian Community and achieving good results in the following two seasons.

In 1999 it starts in regional competitions in the Valencian Community in the circuits getting fourth in the Formula Airtel and the seventh since Caja Madrid Cup.

Win the Airtel Formula of Valencia in 2000. In 2001 signed by the team of Julián Miralles and wins the Championship 125cc champions Formula and is 12th in the Championship of Spain of 125cc.

2002 2004

With the team Aprilia Aspar in 2002 achieved his first major success by winning the 125cc Championship of Spain and also takes part in the 125cc World Championship in 14th position with a fourth place in the Grand Prix of the Czech Republic as best result.

2003 marked his confirmation in the world scoring its two first victories at Donington Park and Motegi with what ended up in third position in the Championship.

For 2004 he left the team reeling and signed with the team's 125cc Clarence Seedorf getting 4 wins and lifting up with the 125cc world runner-up.


2005 2009

The 2005 season is his rise to the 250cc class by signing with the team led by Dani Amatriain, Fortuna Honda team, riding a Honda RSW250 taking as a companion to Jorge Lorenzo, where it ends at 9th position this season.

Amatriain team leaves Honda and becomes official Aprilia team in the 2006 season by Héctor happens to pilot the Aprilia RS250 getting their first victory in the Grand Prix China 250cc and finishing the season in seventh position.

In 2007 change team and tab Team Toth Aprilia obtaining 3 podium finishes and finishing in fifth position, his best result to date in 250cc.

2008 Barbera continues in the team Toth and pilot one of the 7 RSA250 official Aprilia in the 250cc and changes its dorsal of the last few seasons, 80, by 21. This season signed their best evolution race-to-race stressing their 8 outputs from the first row of Grill and its four podiums, until the serious injury that occurred during the trainings of the G.P of Motegi which forced him to terminate his season when he was struggling to the top three of the Championship, finishing the Championship in 6th position.

For 2009 Héctor team changes and falls to the newly formed team run by Sito Pons. It will have an official Aprilia RSA250 to compete in the Championship. Héctor ends the year as runner-up of the world 250cc, to 22 points in the first place, with 8 podiums, 3 wins in Qatar, Misano and Valencia circuits.


2010 2012

In 2010, upload to the MotoGP category with team yellow pages Aspar Team where it ran until the 2011 season.

In 2012 tab by the Italian team Pramac Racing Ducati, where signs his best season in MotoGP.

At the end of 2012 is announced the signing by the Spanish team Avintia Racing MotoGP. Héctor Barberá will drive a CRT in the MotoGP category through the 2013 season. Part as one of the favourites for the title of world champion in the mentioned category.

From 2013, it runs on the Spanish team Avintia Racing MotoGP. Héctor Barberá part as one of the favourites for the title of champion of the World Open this season 2015 with the Ducati MotoGP Open which runs from the end of 2014.
