Again the rain has been featured in Sepang and although the morning pilots Avintia Racing, Hector Barbera and Loris Baz, have enjoyed 45 minutes of FP3 dry this afternoon the typical tropical storms in Malaysia have not forgiven, and both FP4 and qualifying sessions have been played with wet asphalt.
Dry Hector Barbera has rolled very fast and after finishing fifth in the FP3 has earned a direct place in Q2.
With both drivers in the final qualifying session expectations were high but Barberá had to stop after only two laps due to an engine problem. And no time to change the tuning of his second bike, you had to see the end of the session from the box. The Spanish will two places behind Baz, who will open the fourth row of the grid for the Malaysian Grand Prix.
The MotoGP race will start at 15:00 local time (8:00 am CET) and forecasts once again give rain before departure.

"The weekend was perfect to reach Q2. We had a problem with the engine of the bike we had with the development of water and I could only take two laps. The only positive is that we are well on both dry and wet, but I think in Q2 could have finished much higher. I stay with a taste of sweet and sour mouth and try to fix it tomorrow. The important thing is the race and we are prepared to fight in any conditions ".
