Avintia Racing drivers have shone on his Ducati during the first day of free practice at the Circuit of the Americas. Hector Barbera finished fourth in the morning.
Hector Barbera has improved his times in the morning, but was left wanting to lose a tenth in the last minutes of FP2. But a bad combination tire choice has not been allowed to realize its full potential. Tomorrow, riders will fight for Avintia Racing enter directly into Q2 and then achieve the best position on the grid for Sunday's race.

"In the morning it went quite well, but this afternoon I finished angrily. We have worked well and have given more than 18 laps on the soft tires and I did 2'06.0, but when it is time to push and push hard we've made a mistake. We have ridden hard front tire and the new rear soft curve in each direction was closing and I could not improve. That is why I am angry, because I know we could have shot much faster. But it's the first day and we know what has failed. So tomorrow I hope to improve to achieve the best possible grid position. "
