The Grand Prix of Aragon official practice day has once again become very intense for Avintia Racing. A day that began with the fall of Héctor Barberá in third free training, a drawback against the Spanish team has been able to overcome (as after the accident yesterday), and which ended with a fantastic performance from the Valencian first officer pilot. With very little time on track with his new Ducati, and even in the aftermath of the shocking accident that started the Grand Prix, Barbera has been capable of achieving the second fastest time in Q1 (only behind Valentino Rossi), which has allowed to dispute the Q2 which decided the pole. A time longer than two seconds and media better that won in the official training on this same stage last season. Unfortunately, in this second part a technical problem has left him out of the dispute of the positions of honor, although this has not tarnished the great result at the premiere with Ducati. Héctor Barberá will be twelfth in the race on Sunday (which will start at 14: 00), another test important to continue the work of adaptation and development of the Desmosedici with electronics Open.
For his part, Mike di Meglio has managed to complete this second day of Grand Prix with some positive points, although it has struggled during the officer that you have left far behind in the grill. The French pilot again to aim for the race fighting with the pilots of PBM.
8 Hector Barbera: 12 ° - 1'48 "991"
“I would say that it has been the rare weekend of my life. When release a bike is what you most want to roll, and I release my Ducati and turns fire. So yesterday rode very little but I could still go fast. This morning I have given five or six turns, I've stood on boxes and when I returned, with new tires, I've fallen. So I have come to half an hour of the FP4 with all the bike by prepare, with only 15 laps, the new electronic, without knowing how it would react... And I have come to the Q1 and the first tyres I've seen that I could go fast, that I have lost the time half a second, that everything was on the site. When I mounted the second tire, the same, I've seen that it could curb strong, fast open, and I've improved six-tenths. And I've got me in Q2. I'll take the positive side, with the moment in which entered into the box and was everyone happy, as if we would have won a race. For us it has been a success, with the weekend and without having shot almost disaster. We have gotten us into Q2 and we have left behind to pilots as Baptist, or as Yonny, who have much more experience with this bike.
In Q2, I have had a problem and finished us the day, but what little we have filmed has been quality. Let's see tomorrow. The forecast speaks that it will rain, so it can be a lottery, because I've never shot with this bike in water. And if you need to change bike the problem will be bigger, because we only have one. But we have done positive things. I have finished this day and I feel accomplished, something that I was not a long time ago".
